Marbles

Dad and Mom Rack had sent a small box of marbles with us for each of the boys here. On Friday night, Jeff led a devotional for all the boys and used those to illustrate how life is like a game of marbles. When you play marbles, you can either play for fun and you get to keep your marbles at the end of the game, or you play for “keepsies,” and if your marble is knocked out of the circle, your opponent gets to keep it.
Jeff told the boys that life is a lot like playing marbles. It’s for “keepsies” and God wants to give us life to the full, but Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jeff challenged them to remember that whenever they play with their marbles. On Saturday several of them had the marbles in their pockets and today they’re playing in little groups all over campus. Here are Anshuman and Abdula proudly showing their new gifts.May these marbles remind us that in the game of life, we don’t play for fun, but for “keepsies” and our Enemy intends to steal, kill, and destroy...but God has good plans and purposes for each of us.
