This week while Jeff attended a leader's retreat in Pawley's Island, South Carolina, I had the kids at the beach. We collected shells, jumped waves, and watched dolphins playing in the surf.
Today we went to Brookgreen Park, started by some members of the Huntington family, (who also began Huntington Gardens, one of my favorite places in Pasadena). This is "Live Oak Allee," a classic South Carolina view, with Spanish Moss growing off of the trees.
And then tonight, as we drove past the rows of neon signs and quirky souvenir shops, Clay yelled out, "Ohhhh, we should stop there!" So since Jeff was driving, he pulled the van around and we all got out, just so we could walk through the shark's mouth and into the store! Gotta love those tourist traps.
Last night was one of those perfect nights. At sunset, the fish were jumping out of the water, and the kids happily played in the tidal pools. Thank You God, for Your beauty and for a refreshing couple of days. Tomorrow we begin our trip up the east coast.

the ocean is just something to behold...it's my haven when i am sad, lonely, or hurt....it just renews my spirit....glad you are enjoying it.....thanks for the pictures...i feel like i was there too!
