Extreme Home Makeover

It feels like we're doing one of those shows on HGTV right now. Last week I counted 9 people at work, like busy bees around and in the house.

Our big time crunch this week was to get the master bedroom done so the drywallers could install drywall and we could finish the floor while Dad Rack was here with a sander for the weekend. The flooring had to be somewhat re-done because we had torn out a wall and didn't want it to look obvious. We also put in insulation, and installed a closet and door. Here is the crew at work. Even Clay helped pull out pieces of wood and nails. We did it! One of my jobs was to use this heat gun to get off those "sticker tiles" and then scrape the adhesive off in order to hopefully keep that fun vintage flooring in the bathroom. (It's not exactly the most fun or fastest job in the world...) I'm going to paint the beadboard a glossy, creamy white in that room.

But, now for my favorite job in the whole world--DECORATING! I'm drawing inspiration from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. Yesterday I had out my paint chips, living room rug, and photos. This hobby is so fun for me. I'm starting to see the potential of this old house coming together, as rooms get transformed right before our eyes.

Hey, it's coming together. Clay will probably start his own painting company soon and Emma will certainly be managing a high-fashion dress store! Dad Rack
