To illustrate, we brought out a huge ball of yarn. I unraveled it all throughout the youth room and then out into the hall. The kids were supposed to imagine that the yarn goes on forever. Then Jeff pointed to the tiny piece of tape on the front end of the yarn. 
"This tape is your life." Compared to the rest of the yarn, that little piece seemed so small, so insignificant. He asked, "What are you going to do with your tape?"
The old saying is true. "Only one life will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."

This is an incredible illustration. It makes my heart pound to consider it. My thoughts have been running in a similar vein, as there have been a few sudden deaths in the community lately...life is fragile, with NO promises. Instead of expecting to wake up every morning and not anticipating death any time soon, we SHOULD anticipate our own mortality, and not take life for granted, so that every day is an immense blessing and opportunity to do something that will last. That's a big responsibility to those that recognize it. And in my flesh, I struggle to do this on a daily basis!
Wow that illustration really puts it all in perspective and get you thinking. I am sorry I missed you guys being there it would have been great to hear Jeff speak and see you guys.
