Jeff and I have been planning for months to surprise the kids and go back to California for a visit. We had frequent flier miles to cover 4 tickets, plus a free rental van, so we decided to go for it! Last week when we put the kids to bed every night, we were like elves, scurrying around packing suitcases, and then the next morning, acting like nothing happened. Finally THE morning arrived. We had the van packed and woke up the kids. They asked, "What are we doing up so early?" Jeff's reply, "We're going to visit some friends. We'll tell you more in the car." Above shows their expressions when they got the boarding tickets for a flight to LAX.
We had lots of luggage...2 carseats, baby backpack, tent, 5 sleeping bags, camping gear, and clothes for warm/cold weather. This was an adventure to remember!
